Nine of us explored from Lapworth Church to find out just how wet the ground would be after the recent heavy rain.

The answer was that ground was firm but showing signs of getting waterlogged. We set of from the church and looped round to the canal.

The canal had some activity and we remarked how the Stratford canal is one of the nicest canals to walk around.

We passed by Lucky, a donkey that Robert knows well, who used to live near Wedgies Bakery but was getting lonely. Lucky has lots of horsey friends to play with.

We passed by some sheep. To some, a sheep is just a sheep, but although we don’t know our breeds, we could tell these were different. The joys of a Google search found these were Herdwick sheep – sturdy critters normally from up North.

To our surprise, it stayed dry.
