Meet at: Bentley Heath Recreation ground to arrange car sharing to leave at 9:30am.
Parking: Studley, Pool Road Free Car Park, Studley B80 7QT. Directions: Go to Studley (M42, then A435). At the roundabout, go right up the hill, turn left at the top into Crooks Lane following car park signs. Pool Road is shortly on the left. The large car park is on the left.
Walk departs 10:00am from the Pool Road car park.
Distance: 7.5 miles.
Description: The walk starts in the car park, walks on through back lanes and then we will soon into open pasture alongside the River Arrow. We then cross to Spernall for a steady climb following the Millennium Way then across Morton Common. We will pause at Morton Bagot Church (only accessible to those there on business) for a bite to eat. We will then return through the grounds of Studley Castle. We then can pop into the Studley Parish Church before returning back along the Arrow and back to the car park
Route on OS Maps here. Might be worth bringing binoculars. We saw heron, egrets, cormorant, & kestrel when we reccied the walk recently.
Lunch: Bring a packed lunch, there will be a lunch stop at Morton Bagot Church.
A gazillion kissing gates and no stiles, easy walking and no ploughed fields. There were two or three places with standing water, so good waterproof boots are essential.
