Distance: 8.4 miles
Meeting Place: Bentley Heath Car Park, ready to leave by 9.30.
Start: Recreation Ground Car Park, Stratford-Upon-Avon, CV37 7LS. Travel down to Stratford via the A3400 (or the M40, A46 and A439). Cross the stone bridge heading south over the Avon and come back on yourself at the Alveston Manor Roundabout. Turn left to the car park (see sign below) just before recrossing the bridge and take the car park on the right (see picture). Most of you will be familiar with this car park, which is chargeable by card or App. Please Note: This car park is expensive for parking over 4 hours, therefore we should car share, and cost share as much as possible. There are toilets at the car park. The walk will start at 10.30.
Description: This is a largely flat walk with some great views. There are a few stiles and some short sections with long grass and nettles etc. so shorts are not recommended. We start by heading south, go through Atherstone on Stour and Preston on Stour. We also take in the village of Clifford Chambers, both on the way out and on the way back. Finally, we come back along the river Avon.
