Location: Southam
Leader: Keith
Distance: Just under 8 miles
Meeting Place: Bentley Heath Car Park, ready to leave by 9.15
Start: Wood Street Car Park, Southam CV47 1PH. This is a free car park with toilets. The walk will start at 10.00. The simplest and fasted way to the start is via the M40 south, exiting at the Gaydon exit (junction 12), then take the B4451 towards Bishops Itchington. Turn right onto the A425, then L onto the A423 and finally left at the roundabout into Daventry Street in Southam. You can then see the car park where the road forks right.
Description: The walk heads out to the west, via the Holy Well, then up to Bascote. We then join the canal for a while heading east before leaving the canal at The Blue Lias pub and Stockton Reservoir. We then head to Stourton before going back to Southam. The walk is very flat with no stiles. The ground is dry with cracks, so boots are needed to protect against twisted ankles on the rough ground. There is some long grass with nettles.
Lunch: Bring some lunch.
