Start:  at the Crown Inn in Withybed Green, Alvechurch. We have permission to park in their car park on the understanding that at least some of us will have something to eat and/or drink afterwards.  Jenny hasn’t booked a table because we might prefer to sit outside.  The post code is B48 7PN and the car park is immediately on your left just over the canal bridge.  Meet at around 0950 for a 1000 start. Jenny will be going direct to the start and not meet up with you in Bentley Heath.

Walk Description: We will head off up the hill and over the motorway down into and through Barnt Green village exiting alongside their sports club and continuing up to Lower Bittell reservoir.  Just 3 stiles so far but quite slippy today and we were pleased we had taken our walking poles.  However the mud should have dried out by next weekend and from here on it is a fairly easy canal side walk back to Withybed Green.
