Event Type

Leader : Stephen
Location: Norton Lindsey
Distance : 5 mile circular
Meet : Bentley Heath Car Park – to leave by 9.15
Start : The New Inn , Main Street, Norton Lindsey CV 35 8JA   Setting off at 10am .
Car sharing advised as quite a small pub car park. The route I took to get there was via Henley in Arden and Claverdon but also can be reached via Hockley Heath towards Hatton then onto Norton Lindsey . Both routes take about 30 minutes.
Description: One of the many walk leaflets issued by the pub – The Gannaway Wood Walk. We leave the car park to walk through Holy Trinity churchyard to follow permissive footpaths , quiet roads , farm tracks , field paths and bridleways. Through a spinney and woodland paths . It will be muddy in places and some surface water with one or two inclines and one easy style . On the way around there are distant views towards Warwick , Edge Hill , Ilmington , Coventry and Leamington .
Norton Lindsey has several 16th and 17th cottages and Blue Plaques for fallen village soldiers of WW1 .
The walk should take about 2 1/2 hours with drinks stop . I haven’t booked a table but you might want lunch or refreshments in the pub afterwards.
