Distance – 7 miles
Meet – Bentley Heath Recreation Ground Car Park to leave at 9.15am for 10.00am start
Start of walk – Victoria Park Car Park, Leamington (free)
Postcode – CV31 3PH
This walk is a change from the intended walk, where the fields and pathways are very wet and muddy. The walk is in part a re-run of the Leamington walk in Autumn 2023, and generally avoids soft surfaces and mud. Most of our walking will be along tarmac or gravel surfaces, or along a good quality canal towpath. It starts from near the middle of Leamington, heads East along the Grand Union canal, visits Newbold Comyn Country Park, before a gradual ascent on Campion Hill to gain views over the Town. From there we head back along the River Leam, through attractive parkland, to the start.
Travel Plan
Take the M40 South to Junction 14. Take the slip road to A452. Take this road for approx. 3.5 miles, over various traffic islands, to see prominent overhead arched stone railway bridge on right. Go right here under bridge, and immediately left to small signed car park.
(Please note that postcode CV31 3PH refers to Recycling Centre on left, immediately before railway bridge).
