After the excitement of the walk through the hoar frost last week, the grey day made a sad contrast, but 15 of us met up at the Boat for a 5 mile Saturday saunter.

We walked down Henwood Lane, which was impassable a week ago when Pam and Manjit checked out the walk and the ford was being well-behaved. We nearly walked back into Knowle as we passed by Henwood Farm.

We then picked up the canal and caught sight of an elegant pair of swans. (We’ve never seen anything but Mute Swans in this area).

We circled round near to Whale Tankers and then on over the Blythe, staying on the quiet lanes. We did manage to add to our collection of sheep pictures.

The back to the canal and back to Catherine-de-Barns and the warm though we think someone has been a bit slow to tidy up their Halloween decorations. The local canoe club were having a meet at the Boat.
